  • Limited Edition CDR in Bespoke Latex Case/Instant Download
    Compact Disc (CD)

Business is available as a numbered, hand stamped CDR, housed in bizarre, bespoke latex packaging.

Each copy is lovingly crafted & designed by members of the band & Am Statik Latex. The innovative 3 panel yellow rubber design has a transparent window and is secured by a metal popper.

It comes complete with a signed and numbered twelve panel poster print of the original Business artwork.

To view the construction of this wobbling musical oddity please see our blog post:

    perhapscontraption.co.uk/2011/07/building-bespoke-business-packaging-with-am-statik-latex/

The high price is due to the very long process and expensive materials it takes to create such a thing. Perhaps Contraption receive a minimal revenue from each sale.

To be frank, it's an absurd business model (pardon the pun) but we made it because, we just had to, and thought it would be an interesting thing to do. We hope you like it.

The package also includes an immediate download of 12-track album in your choice of 320k mp3, FLAC, or just about any other format you could possibly desire.

about

Perhaps Contraption proudly announce the arrival of their second LP “Business”.

Oozed out obsessively over the past 5 years,
Business is some sort of psychedelic avant-folk excursion; melding twisted pop, mathematic expulsions & entwined woodwind soundscapes.

The journey is comprised of two distinct segments.

Jammed with desperate soliloquies & ecological / mortal meme-fucks, Business flinches at the mental clutter we are bombarded with incessantly.
All delivered with Perhaps Contraption’s quintessential Dada-infused English eccentricity.

We truly hope your Ossicles are pleased.

Please come in it's quite safe.
I'm sorry about the mess.
(It's very messy in here)
Your semi-quavers slither just like your skull.
But as long as we're making weapons and ordnance
we're all having fun.

I'm not, I'm not, cut out for this business.
I'm not, I'm not, cut out for this.

Join our Club
(We'll boil your hands)
Join our Club
(We'll burst your blister)
Join our Club
(We'll break your legs)

And you signed on the dotted line.
We'll provide the pen of course.
And then your bum is mine.
And give back the pen of course.

Honesty is the best policy.

I love the way, you colour coded your dress.
It matches those shiny landmines inside your head.
Please make yourself and help yourself at home,
And, be, careful not to break your skull.

THIS IS THE SOUND OF YOU BREAKING YOUR SKULL

There's just no way to sustain all this progress
(what are we coming to?)
Abundant views of the hoards do duly contrast
(everything to lose)
Dig dig dig dig the way out and do it really fast,
Chop, burn, choke cut the way out,
we do it really....

Hold your head up don't ever let it sway
The key to happiness is on it's way
Manunkind hangs nature in a noose
Irredeemable we're bound to lose

In just one generation we have contaminated
(every living system!)
On the planet; perfume from petroleum
(wrap our food in plastic)
Dig dig dig dig the way out and do it really fast,
Chop, burn, choke cut the way out,
we do it really....

Hold your head up don't ever let it sway
(The key to happiness is on it's way)
Manunkind hangs nature in a noose
(Irredeemable we're bound to lose)
Track Name: Detritus
Centuries pictures, the detritus,
"I don't want it" in my consciousness, no.

People are making, all the clutter,
the billboards do loom,
in the cumbersome lands.

And its not, surprising, they're happier, than you.
Head tidy, more arranged, than the average man's brain.
Let's sieve out, all the shit, and digest the best bits.
Head tidy, more arranged, than the average man's brain.

What happened to the information?
It, got, lost in the brain stem.

What happened to the sceptiscism?
It, dilutes with the symptoms.

We'll write, our own map, construct our own compasses, from the old thoughts,
rubbed from the chalk boards
the dust fuels the new hoardes...

And its not, surprising, they're happier, than you.
Head tidy, more arranged, than the average man's brain.
Let's sieve out, all the shit, and digest the best bits.
Head tidy, more arranged, than the average man's brain.
by welding, the thinking
we're making
the good things.
Track Name: Tinily Whirling
I painted all four colours on,
all four walls.

Salute the cells,
cos' they got us far but it might not happen again.

One day I'll be rotting slow.
As the earth does whirl.
One day we'll be rotting slowly.
As the earth does whirl.

Salute the seas,
because that's where we crawled from,
but it might not happen again.

It's wiser to know that,
you don't know there's nothing at all.
Nicer to show that you do know you're having a ball.
Harder to grow on the thought that you're arbitrary,
Cos' one day we'll be rotting slow...

One day I will be rotting slowly, rotting slowly
buried under your feet.
Soon you all will be dead and buried dead and buried.
Wiser to know that you don't know there's nothing at all
Harder to grown on the thought that you're arbitrary.
Track Name: Sir Quiche Rots
Wholly, desperately being, as, ordinary life clots.
Sir Quiche Rots, know thyself.
Sir Quiche Rots.
Know thyself, Know thyself.
Track Name: Lunch for the Worms
If I should die soon,
Please bury me in a coffin that will rot
and rot at the rate I rot.
Under a horse chesnut tree please, a tree please a great big one.

SO my insides and out, will slowly seep out -
back in to the soil
back in to the soil.

And maybe I will nourish,
the growth of that tree,
or I will provide,
lunch for the worms
lunch for the worms.

Until,
my maybe, old, bones, remain.
Smooth like the conkers.
Bristling, above ground, above, above...

Much younger and, more ignorant,
than the ground I will rest
younger and, more innocent,
than the ground I will rest
younger and, more ignorant
than the ground I will rest
younger and, more innocent
than the ground I will rest, I will rest in.

Listening Bones, Ossicles, move inside our ears.

Hand are boiling, the stave is broken, our mouths are kissing, ordnance under our feet
(Deep within our kingdom autonomy is brimming)

We are walking the business sulking, our globes are viewing, fireworks at sunrise
(semi-quavers slither, but we will live forever)

We'll boil, your hands, soothing, you find you found again,
Selling, fuss and sex, but it has no relevance, meaning more than-

Little bones, moving, you hear you heard again,
Selling, gloss and tripe, but it has no elegance,
unlike listening.

Ossicles, attached to ligaments. Eardrum, pushes the hammer, which collides with the anvil, which shoves the stirrup into the NERVE.
